Nissan to recall 51,000 Cubes
Nissan is recalling 51,100 Cube compacts from 2009 and 2010 in the United States and Canada because of possible problems with fuel spilling during rear-end collisions.Nissan said on Monday that tests conducted by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration regulators found more fuel spilled than federal standards allow. The spillage occurred when the vehicles underwent rear crash-testing. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, can lead to a fire, NHTSA said in its bulletin.No injuries or crashes have been reported due to the problem with Cube, quirky, box-shaped compact sedans.
