Tata buys Land Rover and Jaguar for 2.3 billion dollars
 Ford made an announcement Wednesday about the sale of its Land Rover and Jaguar luxury brands to the biggest automaker in India, Tata Motors. This deal will be including the brand names, plants and the Intellectual Property Rights, all of this for a cash sum of around $2.3 billion, having a commitment from Ford for paying out $600 million on future pensions to the retired employees of these two brands. Tata Motors to meet with Land Rover and Jaguar
 On the 8th of February, a meeting between the officials from Tata Motors, Jaguar and Land Rover took place- it seems that the front-runner in the bid for the two British marques, Tata earned union support last year as it promised to maintain the five-year business plan already in place at the brands. Volvo XC60 to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show
 Volvo will reveal the production variant of the XC60 Concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The XC60 will be competing with Mercedes GLK, Land Rover Freelander and Volkswagen Tiguan. Sales will start in early 2009.The XC60 will come with two diesel engine and four petrol engines. Petrol engines will have: 2.5 liter turbo, 1.8 liter, 3.2 liter six and T6. the diesel will be including a D5 and a 1.8 liter.Pricing will begin from 35.000 euro and rise up to 70.000 euro.

Jaguar designs Alfa Romeo 169
 AutoCar reports the upcoming Alfa Romeo 169 model could have its design by the next owner of Land Rover and Jaguar. Sergio Marchionne, the dynamic CEO at Fiat said the new owner could very well be providing the key ingredient missing for creating a `stunning` model rear-drive Alfa 169. "We have a stunning design for the 169, and we know how to build a rear-drive platform for it” explained Marchionne. “But we would rather buy a suitable platform from one of our competitors to be more cost competitive. We have talks under way with different manufacturers, and I expect a final decision in January".

Land Rover LRX Concept revealed during the Detroit Auto Show
 The Land Rover LRX Concept model will be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January. To increase the driving dynamics, Land Rover cut down the Freelander body with about 7 centimeters and the height with 12 centimeters. This LRX Concept will get also a more aggressive appearance with 20" wheels.

Land Rover LXR Concept to be revealed at Detroit Auto Show
 At the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, Land Rover released an image of the two-door SUV model with no details about the auto. It seems in the picture was the LRX Concept, a model that will be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January.The LRX Concept model is the preview variant of a subcompact one of the Freelander. The production variant will come in 2011.
