200 workers will leave Holden voluntarily
Around 50 employees of Holden agreed to quit the firm after their hardship packages were granted. The employees are now sustained by the firm's Elizabeth factory of assembly and are the 1st with approved applications. Coupe 60 Concept revealed by Holden
Holden took today the wraps off a brand new concept car called Coupe 60. Essentially a two-door variant of the VE Commodore, the auto could easily be put in production, but General Motors insists there are no concrete plans just now. Holden will reveal the production variant of the VE Sportwagon at the Melbourne International Motor Show 2008, starting on 29 February. A concept variant of the all new VE Sportwagon made its world unveiling at the Australian International Motor Show last October in Sydney.The V8 6.0L Sportwagon SS backed Jack Daniel`s it was created for the V8 Supercar drivers Shane Price, Cameron McConville and Nathan Pretty - enduro specialist.The VE Sportwagon model will be available in full range of VE Commodore versions including Omega, Calais and Berlina, plus the sporty SV6, SS and the area topping SS-V and Calais V units.

Holden will reveal a new concept at Melbourne Motor Show
Holden announced that during the Melbourne Motor Show 2008 they will unveil a concept auto to `knock everybody`s socks off`. Holden also has chosen the show to debut the production variant of its SportWagon, displayed a bit disguised at the Sydney motor show 2007.The firm`s fast-car department, HSV, is expected to be developing a very hot variant of the SportWagon and it may preview the model - alongside the new 7-litre flagship V8 sedan - during the show.The Concept to be displayed by Holden is the preview variant of a model that will be competing with Ford Falcon.

Inside rumors state that the Holden UTE will soon be launched in the U.S.A. and same rumors claim that the utility will be sold as the new Pontiac G8 ST probably later this year or at most, early in the 2009.
