SARTRE Vehicle Platooning make the first Test, and it is Successful

A announcement has been come out as the first successful test by Volvo and Ricardo UK. That is ‘real world’ demonstration. Though it was announced in 2009.
SARTRE technology is the short form of Safe Road Trains for the Environment technology, and we know this. This concept was built for the intelligent convoys which had been led by a professional driver, of course in the lead vehicle, and the vehicle is followed by modified computer-driven passenger cars.
Amazing matter is each vehicle in the system measures speed, directions as well as distance of the vehicle or car directly ahead. If that so then we are sure driver gets a break to relax or easily put focus on other tasks.
Another important notice is the vehicles can be redone manual again at any time so that drivers get full control.
This is a major escrow for European research because after the test the technology has gotten a new benefit. The benefit is popularity only. People now knows about the SARTRE technology and Volvo Platooning is now ahead of one step.
In the test, I mean in the first test the convoy consisted of a Volvo truck as the lead vehicle. One modified 2011 Volvo S60 was as following vehicle.
Finally we can think the control if goes out of the hand of driver it will be risky. But actually the control will be automatic control so that the driving gets security.
