Tesla Model S will soon be on the marketIt's been two years since Tesla announced the delivery of the first vehicles, after presenting the Model S.
The release was planned to happen in the middle of next year, and the first 1,000 cars to be a limited edition that have special badging. Also they will be stimulated by a 42 kW lithium-ion battery which sends power to an electric motor that allows the Model S to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds, reach the higher speed of 125 mph, and travel up to 300 miles on a single charge.
No certain price information yet, but just to have an idea, the typical Model S costs around $77,400. Let's admit it, it does sound a little expensive, but the good news is there will also be a 230M (307 km) and 160M (258 km) that cost $67,400 and respectively, $57,400. All the models will be allowed to take a $7,500 U.S. government tax credit.
In 2012, Tesla will build 5,000 Model S' and in 2013, 20,000.
The idea is optimistic, let's see how it goes.
