Sales raised 15 % of Mercedes in 2010 for sustaining lead over AudiBERLIN (Bloomberg)-According to the most recent information, Mercedes-Benz posted an increase of sales approximately 15 percent previous year, boosted by the S-class and high-end E models in order to secure its lead over Volkswagen AG’s Audi.
The deliveries of the brand increased from 1.01 million vehicles to 1.17 million, the representative of the automakers said in a statement on Friday.

The higher management of the VW unit plans to overtake Mercedes, the second biggest giant of global premium car maker, and as well as BMW AG, which is in fact at the top of the tree and No.1, for becoming the luxury leader by 2015.

Furthermore, In the Smart mini-car brand a decline of 17 percent has been recorded in deliveries, the sales of the Daimler’s increased 12 percent for the year 2010 to 1.27 million.

The target of Daimler is for the year 2010 was to raise Mercedes sales by minimum 10 percent.

The previous year was a great year for us in which we got success and exceeding our targets, CEO Dieter Zetsche stated in his statement.
