Speeding and running a red light leaves Ron Dennis McLaren chairman with no licenseNot a good period for Ron Dennis, former Formula One boss and McLaren chairman as his driving license was revoked for 6 months for running a red light in the U.K.
Apparently, this was not the only thing that left Dennis without the permission to drive. Other 3 incidents also contributed. Speeding on several occasions is one of them, said McLaren's spokesperson.
The court had no choice, but to revoke his driver's license for six months as he accumulated the 12 penalty point.
Dennis declared that the reason he didn't stop was because he thought about the car behind him and that it was too close to him. So, the main idea is he crossed the red light to prevent a crash.
Anyway, as he is divorced, he pleaded with the court not to take his driving privileges because he needs a car for his children on weekends.
Now Dennis is focusing on the development and launching of the McLaren MP4-12C and he is no longer head of the McLaren's Formula One division.
