News about the next year’s 2012 MY Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited also emerge. The piece of news was taken from an announcement made on Chrysler’s third-quarter sales results and it also spoke about the fact that both models mentioned previously would get a new 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engine and Mr. Marchionne also said something about the production of a new Dodge sedan, which is currently in the developing phase on the underpinnings of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta hatchback. Sergio Marchionne also confirmed the upcoming compact model, which will be a sedan and not a hatchback as it was rumored and will be based on the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. It appears that the V6 Pentastar is making its way on other models, including the 2011 Dodge Charger and Grand Caravan after debuting on the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Wrangler’s interior received some significant upgrades but the producers were somehow uncomfortable with the old 3.8-liter V6 with 202 hp and the new 3.6-liter Pentastar which is capable of delivering 283 hp and 305 hp on the aforementioned Dodge models, is supposed to bring the desired comfort. With an extensive renovation process that makes the Chrysler Group pay no more than $600 million, the small Dodge will enter production at the beginning of 2012, at the Belvidere Assembly Plant. The foreseeable future shows the next-generation midsize sedans and crossovers using the new platform.
