Filed under:Ford, Supercars, SuperSport, One of Ford's legendary brands, the GT, is about to receive a new generation. According to a recent rumor, the American car manufacturer is o the verge of creating a brand new version of its GT supercar that will feature not only a sleek and modern design but also all the technical enhancements that Ford has developed recently. In order to maintain the latest trends, the GT would have to adopt one of Ford's new supercharged V8 600 hp engines, such a beast being able to take the new supercar from 0 to 60 in just 3 seconds, only to top at a bit over 200 mph. Also, it's almost sure that the Ford supercar will also feature a hybrid version and a start/stop button that will maximize the fuel economy.
On the other hand, according to unofficial sources from Ford, we're talking about all aluminum chassis and exterior panels made out of composite materials. This is something that will not only lighten the car but it will also allow the designers to take the design of the GT to a new level as the composite materials are easier to process and shape then the metal panels.
