EPA rating Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan Hybrids - 41 city mpgThe Environmental Protection Agency certified the Mercury Milan Hybrids and Ford Fusion 2010 at 41 mpg - city and 36 mpg - highway, the agency and Ford announced recently. These figures give the sedans from Ford the highest city / highway economy of fuel in the class, with 8 mpg over the ex class-leader Camry hybrid by Toyota in the city, 2 mpg on highway.

When Milan and the Fusion go this spring on sale, they will be carrying a certification of 41/36. The Milan Hybrids and Fusion rate actually one mpg above the Honda Civic smaller hybrid for driving in the city too.

The Ford - Mercury Hybrid's quite high city economy of fuel rating comes partially from the ability of traveling up to 47 miles / hour on only an electric engine right before the engine on gasoline kicks in.
