2012 U.S. market Ford Kuga/Escape was spied

The latest series of spy shots revealed the 2012 North American Ford Kuga/Escape, which is expected to debut late this year, heavily camouflaged and undergoing some tests in Michigan. The vehicle is based on the European Kuga model and it aims to replace the Escape in the North American market. The Ford Vertrek concept, which had its world debut at the Detroit auto show in January, can provide important clues of the upcoming kuga/Escape. Back then, the concept appeared in front of the enthusiast public integrating touches from the C-Max model and a "Ford kinetic design" compliant front fascia that was similar to that of the new Focus. A series of engines including the 2.0-liter TDCi diesel and the 1.6-liter EcoBoost is likl;ey to power the next-generation Kuga/Escape.
