Fisker Karma EV will compete at the Monterey Historic Automobiles RacesThe plug-in hybrid sports sedan Fisker Karma will make it`s official driving debut on Saturday, 15th of August, at the Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races, even tough nobody is certain that Fisker will have the first units of the Karma up for sale in the last quarter of the year as they stated in January at the Detroit Motor Show. The Karma prototype will have do online two laps on the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca course.

Henrik Fisker, the Fisker Company CEO, stated that ``The Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races is the best stage in the world for great moments in automotive history``. He continued by saying that ``Fisker is honored to be a part of it``.

The Fisker Karma has a range of 80 kilometers (50 miles) on a full charge of its Lithium-ion battery and a total range of 480 kilometers (300 miles) thanks to an on-board generator powered by General Motor`s Ecotec engine that has an output of 260 horsepower. Thus, the two electric engines manage to develop a combined total power of 403 horsepower. That kind of power allows the full size sports sedan to go from 0 to 60 mph in about six seconds while having a top speed of 125 mph (201 km/h).
