Lancia Thesis and Chrysler 300 are Ironically Similar
Filed under:Chrysler, Lancia, Sedan,

It is very interesting to see what one can find when searching in some official documents released to the press. What you have below is a series of photos found in the presentation slides released by Chrysler at the unveiling of the company`s five year business plan. In the photos below we get to see a picture of Chrysler`s nifty new brochure, a family portrait of Olivier Francois, head of both Chrysler and Lancia brands amongst others. But one certain photo caught our attention. More precisely, a photo in which we can see a 2009
Chrysler 300 put next to a 2005 Lancia Thesis with the text below the photos ``CHRYSLER 2009 = LANCIA 2005`` and the text above the photos ``Ironically similar``.
Honestly, I do not understand this photo or the text comment at all. You can say about of cars that they are similar, but there is nothing ``ironically similar`` between the 2005 Lancia Thesis and the 2009
Chrysler 300. The Lancia Thesis is a retro styled classy limousine with a fine touch of common sense and refinement while the
Chrysler 300 is more modern looking sedan, with a more aggressive styling. The Lancia Thesis has a main target people over 40 years old especially while the Chrysler 300 has as a main target people of ages between 20 and 40. I honestly can not see any similarities whatsoever between the Chrysler 300 and the Lancia Thesis, not even ironical similarities.
I think that the marketing people working for the Fiat Group could have been more inspired and not to make such a comparison. Maybe they have realized that they have made a mistake and will not continue a marketing campaign based on an absurd comparison.
