The formal safety car for MotoGP is the new BMW 1-Series M Coupe

This 2011 MotoGP season, the official safety car is the BMW 1-Series M Coupe. This model is part of BMW's M division, but the only thing in common with the production model is the 250 kW (340 PS / 334 bhp) twin-turbo inline 3.0 liter six-cylinder drivetrain.
This car suffered a lot of changes and some of the changes refer to the use of carbon-fiber components, such as for the new bonnet with large air intakes and polycarbonate side and rear windows. The 1-Series M Coupe also has a front apron with air induction, a front splitter, a spoiler lip on the boot and an adjustable rear wing for additional downforce. All this changes help reduce weight on the car.
The safety car rides on 19-inch rims with 255/35/R19 tires at the front and 285/30/R19 at the back. Height, front and rear axle cambers of the vehicle are adjustable and it has a performance brake system with six-piston fixed-calipers. The suspension also gets a track set-up tuning job including a sports chassis with also independently-adjustable dampers.
On the interior, it has bucket seats, an Alcantara M steering wheel and a 6-point race for the driver and wingman and the back seats are removed.
We can all admit it's a true work of art.
